3 Reasons to Get Outdoors In Edmonton
At Kimberley Homes, we love building in Edmonton, and we also love living in Edmonton! Why? Well, one reason is because there are so many opportunities in and around the city to get outdoors and enjoy the summer sun. We have first-class golf courses to up your game, beautiful parks to go hiking, and scenic lakes to help you cool down from the sizzling heat. Whatever your interests, you’re sure to find something new to catch your interest this summer.
1. Enjoy a Round of Golf
Did you know there are over 20 golf courses in Edmonton, with many more in the surrounding areas? Here is our favourite to visit this summer:
Jagare Ridge Golf Course
Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or simply starting out, take advantage of the Jagare Ridge Golf Club, which is part of the Jagare Ridge community. This beautifully designed golf course is located along the banks of Whitemud Creek Valley, and with its hills and valleys, it offers a challenging but fun opportunity for golfers. After your round, enjoy a casual dining experience at the clubhouse while taking in the spectacular views of the course.Â
If you’re a fan of the Jagare Ridge area, come visit us at our Jagare Ridge Showhome!Â
Windermere Golf & Country Club
A great golf course is the living, breathing heart of an outstanding private club. That’s true at one of our favourite golf clubs and it is the case at Windermere, a course that tests the best players while creating consistent enjoyment for all who walk on its fairways or roll a putt on its true greens. It has gorgeous views and incredible staff!
2. Go Hiking at Elk Island National Park
There are so many things to do in Edmonton, but one attraction you won’t want to miss is Elk Island National Park. The park boasts a diverse landscape of forests, lakes, wetlands, and grasslands that provide habitats for over 42 species of mammals, 250 species of birds, five species of amphibians, and two species of fish. If you’d like a more immersive experience, stay the night and camp at one of the parks’ three campgrounds, taking in the stunning view of the stars after dark.Â
3. Relax By the Lake
There are over 20 lakes near Edmonton, so you can kick off your shoes, jump in the lake and take refuge from the summer sun.Â
Jackfish Lake
Only 30 minutes West of Edmonton, Jackfish Lake is a spring fed lake, great for swimming, boating, fishing, and other fun activities. There are multiple boat launches, picnic sites, hiking trails and beautiful waters – making it the perfect city escape.
We have our Jackfish Lake showhome coming soon, along with 2 lots available for you to build your dream, lakefront oasis to spend all your time next summer.Â
Jensen Lakes
Jensen Lakes is St. Albert’s first lake community, designed for all the fun of lakeside living. Imagine the view of the lake from your private beach chair, or from the window of your newly built home (such as our available Designer Home for purchase – 11 Jubilation Drive – that is ready for immediate possession).
At Jensen Lakes, you can spend your weekends soaking up the sun, playing beach volleyball, spending time with your friends and neighbours at Jubilation Beach. You can even go swimming, kayaking, or paddle boarding. Once you’re done, head over to the Beach Club – a space designed to be the heart of the Jensen Lakes community.
